After watching “The Power of Vision” video I spent most of my spare time trying to figure out what I want to do or where I want to stand in the future. I got upset and frustrated as I spent more time to think through, because I realized it used to be so much easier for me to come up with something that I want to do and ACTUALLY do it-back in the days.
I am still in a process of figuring out what I want to be in the future and my list of goals is incomplete, but let me share what I have for now:
I love THEATRE! I am currently taking Theatre-Directing class and my minor is theatre. Theatre brings out very passionate side of me- so I want to continue to have theatre in my life.
Gayageum is a traditionally Korean (string) musical instrument. I have been playing Gayageum for 11 years thus far- and I just love playing this instrument. The sound of Gayageum calms me down and i just can't stop playing! ;)
I mentioned Burberry; because they went through the period of economic stagnation due to their old fashioned ideas and still stays strong!
(1) I want to be a Director!
I love THEATRE! I am currently taking Theatre-Directing class and my minor is theatre. Theatre brings out very passionate side of me- so I want to continue to have theatre in my life. (I have learned that VISION without action is a DAYDREAM. ACTION without vision is a NIGHTMARE. )
So in order to achieve this goal, I am going to continue to take the courses related to Theatre and also try out for a school play to gain more insights on theatre life!
(2) This was my very first dream I had in my life: To be a Gayageum teacher.
Gayageum is a traditionally Korean (string) musical instrument. I have been playing Gayageum for 11 years thus far- and I just love playing this instrument. The sound of Gayageum calms me down and i just can't stop playing! ;)Gayageum is now more of a hobby- but I will continue to play and perform when I can! [ Maybe I can tutor kids in my church! J]
(3) I want to be a Human Resource Manger in Fashion Industry Company like Burberry or Marc Jacobs.
I mentioned Burberry; because they went through the period of economic stagnation due to their old fashioned ideas and still stays strong! I also mentioned Marc Jacobs, because they always try something new with their designs. They are very creative and that is their strength!
To achieve this goal, I am planning to major in Human Resource Management and start getting internships in this field and work my way up! J

ReplyDeleteDoing what you're passionate about will only bring out the best in you! The arts - whether it is music, theatre, or fashion - seem to be your calling. I hope that your visions become your reality. It will be truly inspiring to see you live the life you love.
ReplyDeleteIts funny that you guys are always commenting on each others blogs. LOL! But I can't help it but to agree with your friend. I realized that you can make money and achieve success in many ways. But to find something that you truly enjoy and passionate about is not easy to find. I left my short success in military career to seek and search for my passion. Some thought I was crazy for leaving what I had worked so hard to achieve. But I knew in my heart that there is difference between a job and a career and yet, I'm still searching for this passion. But what I realized is that its part of life. I actually met some people that were much much older than me and they were still searching and looking for purpose and their passion. So if you know what your passion is and it makes you happy, you should really think harder about pursuing it. At the same time, I understand that its not as easy to make these decision since you're getting little older, little more responsible, and you have other things to consider. But don't be afraid to try because in order to get some where, you're going to make some mistakes and you have to take some chances. In the end, I am firm believer that we can achieve success meet goals in life as long as we put our full effort and heart into the thing that pursue.
ReplyDeleteI, too, at times get frustrated when thinking about my career because when I think of career, it makes me think of what I'll be doing for a good portion of my life. It's a big commitment in a way, and I don't want to waste time if the career path I chose is not where I want to be. But on a more positive note, I think it's good that you continue playing your Gayageum because it seems to be your passion. I think as long as you're passionate about what you are doing, you will go a long way, and you sure seem to be on the right path for all of your visions. Keep up the good work, and I wish you all the best!
ReplyDeleteGood luck! i'm sure you will be achieving your goals soon! By setting your goals and vision high you implement a "shoot for the stars" approach. You all these long term aspirations and goals which are glamorous which will in turn make you willing to go through all the tedious and repetitive task easier. Furthermore, if you "shoot for the stars" even you don't achieve it you are not where you are before as an individual.
ReplyDeleteWow these are some amazing goals. I think it's great that you have so much passion for theater and gayageum. I can certainly relate to having passion for something. I've been doing martial arts for 7 years now and it's something I plan to do the rest of my life. I definetly wish you good luck in whatever path you choose..even if it might be all three.
ReplyDeleteyour vision about the life is very important to you of course, but I think you are going to be director :P just kidding... but the vision about your life and the path you are going to choose can be difficult sometimes. As your idea about the gayageum teacher I had some similar idea because I play guitar. The life can be sometımes A.H.(you were asking us in last class:DDD) so don,t give up you might get three of those ıdeas at the same time.
ReplyDeleteWow, what interesting dreams and visions. Hopefully, you will be able to accomplish these goals.
ReplyDeleteYou look beautiful in your traditional clothing! (first pic) I think you should def tutor kids in your church :) That is a great way of sharing something that is important to you, and influence and inspire others...
